Featured property report: This house is located in the Isobe district, a rural foothill area in the northern part of Himi city. About 15 minutes from Himi city center, the property sits amid peaceful farm scenery. Next to the property is a JA branch office, and across the road is Isobe Shrine, famous for wisteria blossoms. During an inspection visit before Golden Week, wisteria was already in early bloom; typically the peak season is early May, with much fuller flowering. An observation spot is right in front of this property. I must mention upfront that this property requires substantial renovation. It is not a 'minor repair and move in' situation, serious renovation work will be necessary. The rear Japanese-style room on the first floor shows moisture damage to the flooring from the time it was vacant. Currently, all tatami mats have been removed and regular ventilation is maintained, but the entire floor will need replacement. The room by the entrance is in somewhat better condition, though it varies by location. The kitchen is relatively sound. The toilet and bath next to the entrance could function but ideally would be renewed. The second floor, accessed by stairs just inside the entrance, was added later and could be used as-is. However, the front room has no ceiling, so it too would need work if used as a living space. The view from the windows shows the landscape; beyond the buildings visible in the distance lies the grove of Isobe Shrine. A storage shed (naya) stands beside the main house. For rural living, a storage shed for farm tools is virtually essential. As you can see, this is not a house requiring only minor repairs before moving in, so prospective buyers are advised to consult with professionals and give it careful thought. Though not a simple undertaking, the location is excellent and the surrounding environment wonderful.
