Vacant House Renovation Project Subsidy
Up to 300,000 yen
Eligibility
- Building with no current residents and constructed 20 or more years ago
- Building to be converted to residence or simple inn (簡易宿所) after renovation
- Rental housing and apartment buildings excluded
- Building whose intended use must be documented in an akiya utilization plan submitted to the city before work begins
- Must renovate to enable residence or rental use
- Must not use the property for any purpose other than intended use for 5 years after completion
- If used for residence or rental, occupant must join the neighborhood association (自治会)
- Approved project must be completed (renovation finished and intended use, residence or simple inn, achieved)
- Application for subsidy must be submitted within 2 years of plan approval
