Multiple tiers: (1) General renovation 20% of costs, max 200,000 yen (post-1981 buildings). (2) Seismic diagnosis 2/3 of costs, max 100,000 yen. (3) Seismic retrofit 2/3 of costs, max 2,000,000 yen (high risk) or 1,000,000 yen (simplified). (4) Post-retrofit renovation: 20% max 200,000 yen or 30% max 300,000 yen depending on retrofit level. Eligibility
  • Building constructed/commenced before June 1, 1981. Must have seismic diagnosis showing adequate seismic capacity OR be undergoing seismic retrofit.
  • Single-family or multi-unit dwelling built/commenced on or after June 1, 1981 (excluding corporate-owned or rental properties).
  • Resident of Kanoya with resident registration and no delinquent municipal taxes.
  • If moving from another municipality, must have no delinquent taxes in former municipality.
  • Child-rearing household: household with dependent children under 18 as of April 1.
  • Elderly household: 65+ or person with disability certificate grade 4 or higher.
  • Eligible renovation work cost must be at least 200,000 yen.
