Location
This marks an approximate area, not the exact building. The circle is a rough radius from the listing's published address, so you can see the neighbourhood without us guessing at a precise spot.
Full description
Two deteriorated properties: a former guesthouse and adjacent house. Photography dated May 2, 2026. Guesthouse built 1970, adjacent house built 1982. Guesthouse closed in 1994. No sales conditions attached. Located in the center of a tourist area; from the 2nd floor, you can see the sea pavilion and enjoy the sound of waves and starry sky. The newly renovated Ashizuri Marine Museum (nickname "SATOUMI") reopened in July 2020, suggesting demand for accommodation, restaurants, and cafes. Vacant since 2018. Significant deterioration and many repairs needed. The adjacent house was built with quality materials (owner's father worked for the forestry service). The field has a non-agricultural land certificate, so non-farmers can purchase. Issues: two roof leaks (near guesthouse entrance and kitchen of upper house); floor sagging in two locations (left-side room of guesthouse entrance and around center of upper house 2F); back hill is a landslide warning zone. Reinforcement from 2006 has cracking; wood portions have rotted and collapsed due to aging. Foundation cracks in approximately two locations; no changes observed to date.

Area and hazard data
- About 220.6 km from the coast
- About 210.8 km to the nearest primary school
A pre-1981 build predates Japan's current earthquake code, which can matter for insurance and renovation. We flag the era from the year built where we have it.
