【Traditional stove (okudosan)】 Deliberately preserved. Having fire in the house provides smoke-curing effects and is key to longevity. Grandmother continued to use it. As children, starting the fire and tending it was their job. Unlike wood stoves, smoke comes from the wood-feed opening, requiring careful wood arrangement. Fire-tending is difficult. Winter was warm and tending the fire was enjoyable. The owner would be very happy if someone uses the okudosan as-is, though it requires significant effort. / 【Silkworms on 2nd floor】 Seasonal hand-work during agricultural off-season. Children helped with mulberry leaf feeding. As silkworms grew, they were divided for better care. Mosquito coils couldn't be used, which became a cherished memory. The house had a spinning wheel too. It was quite laborious work. / 【Storehouse (kura)】 The owner once considered demolishing it. Part of the eaves fell due to the 1891 Nobi earthquake. Without funds to repair, it was left as-is. However, only the storehouse eaves were damaged in the earthquake; everything else was intact. The missing eaves became an essential part of the property's story. / Garden: persimmon trees (bear fruit in autumn), zelkova, cherry blossoms (Somei Yoshino), camellia, etc. Planted by the owner. Butterbur shoots also present (transplanted from a field). The soil is soft from former farm use. However, the property sits mid-slope with a large elevation difference between road and garden, requiring fencing. The owner hopes it will be made safe for children. / Surroundings: Sits on slightly elevated terrain. Excellent views. Garden has superb sun exposure, warm and pleasant. River play, mountain play, field play. Outstanding natural environment. The river once had astonishingly abundant ayu fish and mountain trout. Water is clean. The field below is water-sourced from a spring. The property front was once the main street of Ibuki settlement. The diagonal left-front was a restaurant, diagonal right-front was a police box. It was the center of Ibuki settlement.
