Full description

The close relationship between the brain and gut has been clarified, and activating gut function is beneficial to health, a trend known as 'gut activation' (choukaktsu). The causal link between the gut, dietary fiber, and allergies has also been uncovered and is attracting attention. Mushrooms are particularly effective for gut activation. Sakegawa Village is one of Japan's leading mushroom-producing regions. Fresh mushrooms are inexpensive, and the local farmers' market thrives. Sakegawa Village, however, is short on vacant houses for its akiya-bank inquiries. Now, at last, a gem of a property has appeared, a home with an earthen-floor (doma) space on the banks of the pristine Sakegawa River. Until recently it was a rental property, with an artist as the tenant. Ideas for its use are limitless. With a garden, garage, and storage shed in front, you can also enjoy farming. If you have children with allergies, you could hope to improve their health through vegetable cultivation and mushroom-rich cooking. The earthen floor (doma) is a convenient space that supports such a lifestyle. This village has pioneer settlers, and a family who moved here in 2024 sought out a location deep in the mountains. They received several million yen in support from the prefecture and village, which helped with home renovation. These newcomers work at campgrounds, have opened restaurants, and some have even become local council members. Why not help revitalize this region through the work of new residents? Of course, when living in Sakegawa Village, don't forget to activate your gut with mushrooms. / Remarks: Garden and shed present; property vacant for 4 years (from Heisei 30 onward)
