Surrounded by tall hedging, the house has spacious grounds; while upkeep will be demanding, the views from inside are splendid. / Beyond the entrance with its charming decorative items (tanuki figure, stepping stones), we tour the building. / Grand, spacious entrance; even the back service door is wide. / Reception room beside entrance; upper shelves show water damage or animal droppings. / First-floor rooms are tatami-mat Japanese rooms. With alcove (shoin) designs, sunken hearth, and fine furnishings, the impression is almost like a traditional inn. / Veranda views, as expected, beautiful. / Generous water features throughout. The hot-water heater is broken and will need replacement. / Second floor is all Western-style wooden rooms, each 8 tatami or larger. The view from the second floor is also spectacular. / There are two types of storehouse: one directly accessible from inside the main house, and another standing alone behind it. You could almost live off the storehouse alone. / Additional features include a garage, vegetable field, and woodland, in short, everything needed for a country life. Management will certainly be demanding, but the property's value far exceeds that challenge.
