Full description
An ancient farmhouse where traditional living is possible. The main house has 4 Japanese-style rooms and a wooden-floored hall with a typical old farmhouse layout. While appearing as an ordinary old farmhouse externally, it holds exceptional potential value with traditional features like a stove and wood-fired bath. The attic contains complex arrangements of thick curved pine log beams reflecting the craftsmanship of its era. The annex has only 2 Japanese-style rooms but contains large quantities of scrap materials requiring time to dispose of. While suitable as a residence, it could also be renovated into a traditional farmhouse café or lodging facility to effectively utilize the stove and bath. Within walking distance of Himega Hama Beach, which attracts many swimmers in summer. / Repairs needed: Structural members like pillars and beams, as well as the tile roof, may not require immediate repair, but there are extremely numerous repair points throughout. Notably, a temporary toilet is installed at a location where a window can be opened from inside the main house. Water system renovation, garden maintenance, tatami replacement, and debris disposal will require substantial time and expense before becoming habitable. However, the building retains many features absent in modern homes and possesses high intrinsic value. / Surrounding area: The Nagashi district where this property is located is in the southern part of Nakajima, positioned between Oura Port and Kamiura Port, the island's main gateways. Both ports are within 10 minutes by car. The distance to elementary and middle schools is walkable, making it an appealing environment for families with young children. Himega Hama Beach attracts large numbers of swimmers in summer, and a newly opened (January 2023) restaurant and izakaya are within walking distance, making this one of the most livable districts on Nakajima. / Condition: Significantly soiled and requires comprehensive renovation. Both a temporary toilet and an old drop-style toilet are present, with the temporary toilet apparently being the main one in use. The indoor drop-style toilet's usability is unclear, so a new toilet will need to be installed. The bathing facility is a wood-fired bath, but the boiler is rusty and difficult to use. Traces of water leaks are visible and the roof shows slight warping requiring inspection. Additionally, there are numerous items requiring disposal. Signs of termites present.
